Promoter: METALLICA Concert Cancellation Final
October 23, 2003Chilean concert promoter CIE Chile S.A. announced Wednesday (October 22) that they will begin offering refunds on Friday for the cancelled METALLICA concert that was scheduled to take place on October 28 at Santiago's Pista Atletica, according to El Mercurio Online.
CIE Chile confirmed that "despite [their] substantial efforts to establish a new date for the METALLICA concert in Chile, this has not been possible, thereby making the cancellation final."
The company added that all persons who acquired tickets to the concert "should return to the point of purchase in order to obtain a refund."
Tickets for the cancelled concert, which would have been the group's third in Chile, were priced at 17,700 pesos (approx. $28) and 15,000 pesos (approx. $24).
As previously reported, METALLICAcancelled their South American and Japanese dates due to "physical and mental exhaustion." The band, who have been off the road for the past two months, have yet to issue an official statement explaining the cancellation.
